My First Glossybox (April)

So again, much after the rest of the Country, I finally received my Glossybox! I am the worst at waiting for surprises, so I kind of snuck some peaks at other bloggers box posts but I was still super excited to get mine!

If you don't know what Glossybox is - it's a Beauty Box in Canada (among others - see my GLYMM Box Post or JULEP Maven Box Post to learn about others that I've tried out so far) where a curated box full of beauty products is sent to your door monthly

This box costs $15 a month - a little more expensive than the others...but as you'll see, well worth every cent - and more!

Unlike Julep, you cannot choose to skip a month or see the products in advance, but if you are unsatisfied with your box (how could you be with this thing?!) you can easily cancel your membership and will not be charged for any future months.

If you want to sign up - and you've first read about it here/or been motivated to sign up based on my post I would really really really appreciate it if you use my referral code! (Sign Up Here)

Now onto my review :) (P.S I tried to take my photos by the window this time - so I hope you like the lighting better!)

It comes in a pretty plain box. Subtlety ftw.
Pretty Packaging

Cards with Product Descriptions - this month's theme was Spring Cleaning! Cute.
Quick Look at all the Goodies Inside!

The first product was this Marcelle B.B Cream Sample - it wasn't one of the 5 deluxe samples - just a bonus! I've never tried a BB Cream - but since I don't live under a rock, have obviously heard all the raving about them! I cannot wait to try my first BB cream! BB stands for Beauty Balm. What does it do? This one claims to even out skin tone, hydrate, protect from aging, promote skin regeneration, control shine, soothe skin, reduce the appearance of imperfections, and provide radiant complextion. It is meant to be a moisturizer/tinted corrector/make up base all in one - so no need for moisturizer/primer/foundation if you just use this! I will do a review as soon as I try my first BB cream! The full size is 45ml for $22.95 - so at  1ml, this magazine-size sample is only worth about 50cents.

So as you can tell this is clearly a full size item! This is Elizabeth Grant (great brand) Skin Care Shower Gel. There were many different scents in the Glossy Boxes that went out - and I couldn't be happier that I got Exotic Apricot! I haven't smelled it yet because I didn't want to crack the safety-seal until I was finished with my current shower gel and ready to use this one, so I haven't actually smelled it yet...but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it smells like Apricots ;) This is the Full size product at 240ml and retails for $20.00 - my box is already paid for and more based on this first item alone!!

This is another full sized product!! This is Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Face Moisturizer with SPF 15. I'm so happy about receiving this product because it's just in time for Summer when I'll need to be wearing a moisturizer with SPF! Also, I'm lazy with Primers and generally just use Moisturizer instead - so this is perfect since this one is supposed to improve the look of tone, texture, dullness, blotchiness and brown spots. I also love that it has a pump! It contains soy which is supposed to be great for your skin. Since this is the full size at 120ml, it retails for about $22.99!
In case you haven't picked up on the theme yet...here's yet another full sized product!! As I mentioned in my Get to Know Me Post , Mascara is my favourite cosmetic product! So obviously I was thrilled about getting a full sized Mascara in this month's box! More on this product below.
This is Marcelle Xtension Plus Mascara - it is meant to give length and curl to your lashes. It Defines and Separates, while Minimizing Clumps, and Maximizing Lengthening for a Lash Extension Look without adding Extensions. I haven't opened the product because I didn't want to get air into it and start the process of it going bad until I finish with my current product! However - I have seen photos and it looks like it comes with a plastic comb (perfect for separating/avoiding clumps!) This is the full sized product and retails for about $12.50!
I also received Wella Brilliance Conditioner for Fine to Normal Hair. It is meant to Moisturize Coloured Hair, leaving even fin hair full of vibrant shine and free flowing movement. I don't have coloured hair, but my hair is nonetheless really dry - so hopefully this works well for that! It apparently contains diamond dust O_o so we will see if that makes my hair sparkly like a diamond.... This is a 30ml Sample, so with the full sized 250ml priced at $13.99, this is about $1.68. P.S. I tried my Free Your Mane Shampoo and Conditioner (Sulphate Free) that came in my April Glymm Box and they smelled like a men's product but I've used them for 3 washes now and my hair has never been silkier/smoother! Must. find. this. product.

The last product in the box was this Wella Brilliance Treatment for Fine to Normal Hair. It is meant to restore hair's vibrancy (I think it is a Hair Mask that you probably leave in for 5-10 min or so? Can anyone confirm this?) It also contains Diamond Dust o_O I'm looking forward to seeing how this works on my dry hair! The full size is 150ml for $13.99 so this 25ml sample is about $2.33 worth of product.
Overall - I am ecstatic with the products in this month's Glossybox!
I paid $15 (including shipping/taxes) and this box is worth $60!!!

    1. I ran out of my free your mane sample and went back to my old shampoo this morning - no comparison! I am definitely going to either buy FYM or buy another sulphate free shampoo to try out(that maybe smells a little more feminine).
